Join Central Chapter Members of Indiana Native Plant Society (“INPS”) for an awesome in-person adventure! We’ll be hiking through the beautiful trails of Eagle Creek, a great location to search for breeding birds and, with some luck, blooming orchids led by Wes Homoya with the Indiana Audubon. Perfect for nature lovers and anyone looking to learn more about local wildlife while enjoying fresh air and stunning views. Don’t miss this chance to explore and connect with nature up close!

Hike begins at 10 a.m. meeting at the Eagle Creek Nature Center. Wes is planning a 2 to 3 mile route on mostly flat terrain, starting on paved paths and continuing onto grassy trails. There may be a few muddy spots depending on conditions.

This event is limited to current members of INPS. This event does not open for registration until May 6.

Let’s make this year’s Florathon the biggest and best ever! Form your teams now, give yourselves a name, solicit sponsors, and prepare to venture out into Indiana’s lovely natural areas to spot flowers in bloom. The Florathon is a great way to enjoy spring wildflowers and support a worthy cause. The event promotes donations to our Program Facilitator Fund, which supports a Program Facilitator to lead a citizen science conservation project for rare Indiana native plants and to further engage our membership in pursuing the INPS mission.Teams of two to six people, traveling together, visit natural areas in Indiana during a 24-hour period of their choosing. This year’s dates are from Wednesday, April 1, through Sunday, May 31, 2026. The object is to identify as many native wildflower species in flower as they can.

Team members enlist sponsors (family, friends, office mates, church groups, carpool, businesses, whatever) who honor their efforts by making a donation to the Indiana Native Plant Society. This year’s Florathon proceeds are earmarked for the Shine Foundation Matching Grant.

Sponsors who donate $35 or more are eligible for a one-year complimentary INPS membership (pertains to first-time members only).

Join another installment of this local birdin’ n boozin’ benefit event, benefitting Indiana Audubon and Eagle Creek Park Foundation.

Join Indiana Audubon's Wes Homoya - native Hoosier, avid birder, international tour guide, and passionate conservationist - for another quarterly installment of everyone's favorite birdin’ n boozin’ brew bus benefit bash, as we explore nature and enjoy quality adult beverages together, and for good causes!

This time we have a brand new transportation partner! We are now working with Ale Force One to provide the best possible experience for you during our time in between our amazing program stops. Once you step foot on the bus you'll understand exactly why we're so excited to be able to offer this vehicular adventure to everyone.

We meet and begin our adventure at 1pm at Ash & Elm Cider Co.'s downtown location for a convivial guided tasting, time to enjoy a glass of your preference, and a chance to buy carryout libations for the roadtrip; you can of course drink on the bus (consider bringing your favorite growler to fill - Ash & Elm has a special on Sundays! AND nice n HOT mulled cider this time of year, so bring a big thermos if you want!).

Heading northwest we'll make our annual trek to everyone's favorite Indy Parks gem, the Eagle Creek Ornithology Center! This year, in addition to enjoying as always the interpretive displays, taxidermy, and feeder watching station inside the building, we'll sit in on their popular Peregrine Falcon program to learn about the world's fastest animal. Following this, for the first time ever for our group, we'll have the opportunity to do some "Pigeon Playtime" as we get up close n personal with one of our most secretly interesting and underdog bird species we have in the city.

Afterwards, our bus will take us to the near northwestside of downtown to Guggman Haus Brewing, a fan favorite of all Hoosier beer drinkers! More beverages and shenanigans there, of course, and then we'll return to Ash and Elm around 515pm, where our tour comes to an end, though everyone is invited to continue hanging out, get something to eat, and of course drink more delicious cider and chat all about birds until you're ready to head home.

Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring binoculars if you like/have them (we will have a limited amount available for those without them). Note- we will be indoors for most of the event this time, and you won't necessarily need binoculars since we'll be so close to all the birds! Whether you've never been birding before or consider yourself an expert, you are most welcome!

Join Indiana Audubon Society’s Wes Homoya for a guided walk through The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park to see all the birds that inhabit it. After our walk, we’ll head inside to THE LUME Indianapolis to grab a beverage from Café Ngura and mingle.   

Your ticket includes a drink voucher. You must be 21 years old to order an alcoholic beverage.   

Meet at The Garden Entrance Pavilion and we’ll walk to Fairbanks Park together. Please plan to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Binoculars will be supplied, but if you prefer your own, you’re welcome to bring them.
